How did the idea of KoKoX come about?
The idea about KoKoX (construction concept-future) began in 2018 after a friend's visit.
This one had bought a 3D printer and brought me a pattern.
Although I have been working in the field of design and construction for more than 20 years, I was amazed at the quality of 3D printing.
So far, so was my opinion, the 3D printing was not yet mature for end products without post-processing.
Here I have a better lecturing.
After informing me comprehensively about quality, price and the bio plastic PLA, it was clear to me that there has been a great progress in 3D printing in the last 5 years.
I have enough ideas about new products. They should always bring about a product improvement or something of a heart's heart.
I liked that this sustainable products from BIO material produced.
KoKoX uses 3D printing to ensure that personalized products become real.
Most of the time, there is the problem with commercially available products that I like the design, but not the color or size.
With KoKoX, I want to address my customers directly and reflect their taste and preferences, and that in terms of size, color and the ability to add individual text.
Freedom of Design and the Power of Personalization
KoKoX unleashes the design freedom from the designer's designs to the end product and offers a first insight into the future of custom-made production.
A crucial step on our personalization journey is to deliver products that are as unique as our customers.
As designers, we have been inspired by geometries from nature, architecture and technology in order to create complex forms that can hardly be implemented with conventional manufacturing methods or even not at all.
Thus, we can take the form into account in a way it was never possible before.
We offer our customers innovative ways to finally express their personality.
The 3D printing is particularly ecologically sensible, because it leads to the fact that it can be produced according to demand.
According to a study on the twelve technologies that will change the world, he is one of them.
In the future, not only individual prototypes will be produced, but products will be produced in series.
We invite you to join us on this journey.
The material of KoKoX products:
All products are printed on KoKoX with 3D printers from the bioplastic (PLA).
The Specialist Agency " Renewable Resources e. V. " (FNR) attests to the raw material a great potential for long-lasting products.
PLA is derived from corn starch and whey and is one of the bioplastics. It does not have a negative impact on the environment.
- high modulus of elasticity
- high scratch resistance
- high resistance to oils, fats and alcohol
- Certified composting
- authorised under food law
- water repellent
- flame retardant
- caused by weathering
- Temperature resistant -10 ° to +40 °
Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM): PLA is heated and formed in the melt layer process to the desired product.
PLA is currently the material group within the bioplastics, with the largest volume potential.
Polylactide (PLA) is produced via a multistage synthesis of corn. In this case, corn is fermented to lactic acid and the mixture is then polymerized to PLA.
Due to its physical and mechanical properties, PLA is well suited as a substitute for oil-based thermoplastics.
The PLA is one of the most popular and most important print materials available for FDM-3D printers.
It can be easily processed and the material is suitable for toys, household items and pastry cutters for Christmas.
Since PLA becomes soft from approx. 60-70°, it is not advisable to put items in the dishwasher or in the car in summer.
PLA is transparent, crystalline, stiff and has a high mechanical strength. It can be processed using conventional thermoplastic processes.
At room temperature and normal ambient conditions, PLA is infinitely stable.
